Mr. Pako started his career as a trainee with Standard Bank New York in the Latin America Debt Capital Markets team with a focus on large corporates in Brazil and Argentina. He then spent a year in Johannesburg as a consultant to a US law firm advising multinational with their expatiate professionals and compliance across Sub-Saharan Africa. He also spent 3.5 years with the Swedish Trade & Invest Council assisting Swedish companies and investors with their business development in sub-Saharan Africa in various sectors such as energy, resources, ICT & telecommunications.
In the years before Latina-AB was established and found its feet, Mr. Pako worked as a freelance consultant and freelance interpreter, acting as an advisor for Brazilian businesspersons and Mercosur investors (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay) with their engagement in southern Africa.
Mr. Pako leveraged on his language skills to facilitate meetings as an interpreter/ translator and at times as an advisor working with high level offices and international agencies. He also worked with international sporting events initially as an interpreter and then as an international relations advisor to organizing committees.
Pako is a sports enthusiast and patron and believes in the power of sports to improve integration between the peoples of Africa, contribution to society via better mental-health, improved health and wellness by helping to managing NCDs.
